My name is Tara Stone and I have been working as an estate agent in Calderdale and Kirklees for most of my working career – which is fast ticking by and now amounts to over 22 years, it really is all I have ever known.
I live in Ripponden with my husband, my two children, two dogs and a tortoise! I was lucky enough to be born and raised in the beautiful Ryburn Valley and aside from a 2-year stint living overseas in California, I have lived in Calderdale all of my life and have built up wide friendships and strong community links. I spend my time, when not working, watching my son run or play football, walking the dogs and being a taxi for my older daughter! I also love to socialise locally in the many fabulous bars and restaurants that are local to Calderdale. I feel very fortunate to live and work in this picturesque part of England, selling homes in my hometown is also my pastime.
I began my career in 2002, working for one of the large corporate estate agents in Halifax town centre. I very quickly realised that I had a strong interest in all things property and really began to settle into a career, not just a job. From here I progressed to a Senior Negotiator for one of the countries largest corporate agents in Sowerby Bridge, a small but busy office. We then decided to relocate to California with my husband’s job. Here I dipped my feet into the American style of ‘Real Estate’. On our return in 2006, I secured a position with a large, well known independent estate agent and spent 13 years successfully managing the branch in Elland from its inception. Here, I gained extensive experience in the valuation of all property types and land and development sites. I also gained valuable experience in the sale of auction properties, surveying and lettings. Following some time working for a small independent agent and another touch of the corporate world, I decided to take the leap and launch my own estate agents.
From all my years of experience, one definite thing has become apparent -dedicated time and focus from one sole point of contact is so important for anybody selling a property. This is why I believe in quality over quantity and why I focus on delivering a bespoke and personalised service to each of my clients. With the valuation appointment being the starting point, I do the necessary research and provide figures that are backed up with strong evidence.
Presenting your property in the best possible light to prospective buyers is also the key to a successful sale so I use high-quality marketing with professional photography and floorplans included as standard. I advertise on the major property portals such as Rightmove and Zoopla and I use creative social media. Because I am powered by the eXp branding I also have access to a market leading CRM system linking buyers to properties.
