Location
Kenardington Manor is situated on the outskirts of the village of Kenardington with its historic church and 1.7 miles from Warehorne with its church and public house, on the edge of Romney Marsh. Appledore is about 2.2 miles with its village shop, amenities and station. Kenardington Manor is a substantial Grade II* listed Manor House of architectural and historic interest believed to date from approximately 1475 and is mentioned in Hasteds History of Kent.
The property is constructed on a brick and ragstone plinth and has exposed timber frame elevations and jettied first floor under a Kent peg-tiled roof. Kenardington Manor boasts many period features including generously proportioned rooms with high ceilings, beams and timbers, wide oak floorboards, brick herringbone floors, oak mullioned windows, King and Crown posts, fireplaces and latch doors with Tudor arches. The first-floor corridor is of particular historical interest having four Tudor archways.
There are four reception rooms, comprising of a welcoming entrance hall with brick tiled floor and oak staircase to first floor, stunning courtroom/dining hall, sitting room, study/library, kitchen/breakfast room, inner hall, cloakroom and utility room. The imposing courtroom, currently used as a dining hall, is a double aspect well-proportioned room with high timbered ceiling, mullioned windows to the front and side enjoying garden views.
